On 10-1-17 Officer Fort stopped a vehicle for not having any license plates. After a short investigation, it was determined the passenger in the vehicle was under the influence of narcotics. The passenger was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to jail.
On 9-25-17 Officer Fort stopped a vehicle for a equipment violation. It was determined the driver had a warrant for passing bad checks out of Newton County.
On 9-25-17 Officer Thiel observed a subject walking into a local business. It was determined the subject had five warrants for his arrest. Officer Thiel stopped the subject as he entered his vehicle. After a short investigation, Officer Thiel seized over 40 grams of methamphetamine and other assorted drug paraphernalia. The passenger in the vehicle also had a warrant for her arrest as well.
On 9-24-17 Officer Fort stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was determined the driver was wanted for non-payment of child support. The passenger was also wanted for a past traffic violation. Both subjects were arrested and transported to jail.
On 9-21-17 Officer Thiel stopped a vehicle for improper display of state plates. After a short investigation, it was determined that an occupant of the vehicle had four warrants for her arrest and was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 9-21-17 Officer Thiel stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After a short investigation, it was determined the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The warrant was for a previous traffic violation out of McDonald County.
On 9-20-17 Officer Thiel stopped a vehicle for a faulty tail light. After a brief investigation, Officer Thiel located marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
On 9-17-17 Officer Thiel stopped a vehicle for having expired state plates. It was determined the driver had warrants for minor in possession, Open container and careless and reckless driving. He was arrested on these warrants. It should also be mentioned that the driver also had alcohol inside the vehicle and is still a minor. He was also charged with minor in possession of alcohol and expired plates.
On 9-17-17 Officer Fort stopped a vehicle with no tail lights. After a brief investigation, it was determined the driver did not have a valid license, had no insurance and drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle.
On 9-16-17 the Seneca Police Department was contacted by a concerned citizen. They were following a vehicle that had swerved out of their lane, almost striking oncoming vehicles. Officer Fort located the vehicle. After a short investigation, it was determined the driver was extremely intoxicated. Central dispatch had received three 911 calls on this vehicle. Thank you for being an observant citizen. The suspect was arrested for DWI, C&I and no insurance.
