Four people, JPD K9 injured in accident at 7th and Range Line

Four people were injured in a three-vehicle accident 6:30 p.m. Monday on MO 66 (7th Street) at Range Line Road in Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Jeep Commander driven by Morgan M. Box, 28, Joplin, struck a 2015 Ford Explorer police vehicle driven by Bobby J. Brown, 37, Anderson, which was on an emergency call.

The impact pushed the Box vehicle into a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Landon M. Tracy, 18, Carl Junction.

Box and three passengers in the Box vehicle, Paige C. Blansit, 9, and Charlie B. Blansit-Merrill, both of Joplin, and Terri L. Fields, 49, Wheaton, were treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

A Joplin Police Department news release issued Monday night said Brown was uninjured, but his K-9 officer passenger suffered minor injuries.
