(From MODOT)
The Route D bridge over Center Creek between Webb City and Oronogo will be replaced with a new bridge in 2019. The current “through truss bridge” is being offered for free to interested state or local entities or individuals, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The bridge was built in 1935. The truss configuration limits the vertical clearance of the bridge to 20 feet above the roadway.
This bridge is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Because of this eligibility, federal law requires MoDOT first make the bridge available for donation. The cost to remove the bridge or any of its parts is borne by the party obtaining the bridge.
Those interested in obtaining all or part of the bridge must first submit a proposal for reuse.
Details about the bridge, as well as information about reusing a bridge or making a reuse proposal, can be found on MoDOT's Free Bridges website at http://www.modot.org/freebridges/.
Proposals are due by June 30, 2018.
