JPD burglary call results in confiscation of crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, mushroom, cash

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

On Friday evening at about 7:35 p.m. one of our officers responded to D and Wall for a reported burglary in progress.

The officer was able to determine that it was the homeowner locked out of his own house trying to gain entry.

As he was leaving the call he saw a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road with a female standing next to it. He recognized the female and knew she was involved in drug sales in the past. He contacted her and saw that there was marijuana in the vehicle while he talked to her.

By the time his investigation was complete, she was arrested for trafficking in drugs and the following was seized from her car:

3.75 pounds of marijuana
11.5 grams of crystal meth
3.6 grams of cocaine
4 grams of heroin
12.2 grams of mushrooms
$1,500 cash
