Joplin Fire Department battles industrial fire at 500 block of S. Tyler, explosions reported

(From the Joplin Fire Department)

More information will be released later, however, we want to just take a moment and thank our firefighters for the work and effort they put in last night on a very large commercial fire that had some dangerous moments. In addition to the commercial fire, two additional structure fires came in less than an hour apart stretching our resources to the limit and all incidents were handled extremely well.

We also want to thank our neighbors Webb City Missouri Fire Department and Redings Mill Fire Protection District for helping keep the city covered.

Finally, a big thank you to Metro Emergency Transport System, for taking care of our personnel in the heat, Joplin Police Department and the local American Red Cross chapter for the refreshments.
