Weather permitting, stormwater work next week will close 15th Street and Michigan Avenue to through traffic. Closure will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday, September 24 and is expected to take three days while the contractor places pipe across 15th Street.
Businesses in the area will remain open and accessible during this closure. Signage will be installed to identify the detour route. Traffic on the west side of the closure will detour to Indiana or Illinois Avenue, and detours for eastside traffic will be on Connecticut Avenue.
Work is being completed by Dalton Killinger and is part of the Stormwater Project 11 of the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery program. Crews have notified businesses and residents within the immediate area of the stormwater construction and lane closures.
