Joplin Police traffic stops net meth arrests at 7th and Jackson, 14th and Adele

Friday morning at 12:09 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle at 7th and Jackson for an equipment violation.

The vehicle continued to drive for seven blocks until finally stopping at 7th and Maiden Lane. One passenger was found to have two Duquesne warrants and another passenger had a felony Jasper County warrant. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the following was found: 

-46 Xanax Pills
-10.3 grams of crystal meth
-empty baggies
-digital scale
-meth pipe



The two persons with warrants were charged with drug crimes related to those items. The driver was also found to have a meth pipe in his pocket and was charged with paraphernalia.

Earlier in the night at 10:38 p.m. an officer on patrol at 14th and Adele got behind a vehicle and noticed the year of expiration sticker on the license plate didn't reflect light properly. 

A check of the license plates showed they were expired and the sticker color was incorrect. The vehicle was stopped and it was quickly determined the expiration sticker was fake and had been hand made. 

While speaking to the driver, the officer could see a bag of meth sticking out of his pocket. 

Officers had the male exit the vehicle and arrested him for being in possession of 2.4 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia and driving without a driver's license.
