Stone's Throw Dinner Theatre presenting Miracle on 34th Street

(From Stone's Throw Dinner Theatre)

The Christmas season is kicking off at Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre with its production of Miracle on 34th Street, running December 5-8 and 12-15. Doors open at 6 p.m. and at 12:30 p.m. for the Sunday matinee.

Based on the beloved movie of the same name, Miracle on 34th Street is adapted by the Mountain Community Theater from a novel by Valentine Davies and is presented by special arrangements with Dramatic Publishing, Woodstock, Ill.

Kris Kringle, an old man who resides in a retirement home, wanders into the preparations for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and finds himself thrust into the job of the store’s Santa Claus. Kris unleashes waves of goodwill with Macy's customers and the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for.

Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy's vocational counselor, Kris is surreptitiously committed to a psychiatric hospital. A lawyer who has befriended Kris represents him in court, first trying only to prove that Kris has no mental defect, but finds himself having to prove that Kris is the one and only Santa Claus!

Directed by Kaitlin Morrill, the production has an amazing cast that includes Daniel Pool, Birgit Kuehn, Dr. William Roehling, Naomi Blankenship, Amanda Powell, David Cheek, Joy Cheek, Ian Ferguson, Sahara Fugitt, Kaitlyn Sanders, Via Dennis, Natalie Wilson, Sid Davis, Rebekah Thompson, Rachel Martin, Mathue Sheppard, Austin Robinette, Lee Doss and Ed Towle.

The dinner menu is wedge salad, Chicken Cordon bleu, scalloped potatoes, whiskey glazed carrots, dinner roll and for dessert white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30 p.m. For the Sunday matinee, doors open at 12:30 p.m. The show is almost sold out.
