David Phelps to perform "It Must Be Christmas" December 15 in Joplin

(From Connect2Culture)

After a sold-out show in 2017, David Phelps will return to Joplin, performing “It Must Be Christmas” on Sunday, December 15, 2019, 7:30pm at Joplin High School Performing Arts Center (2104 Indiana Avenue, Joplin, MO 64804). This is the second performance in Connect2Culture’s 2019-2020 Curtains Up Series.

With a vocal range spanning more than three octaves, David Phelps has led an astounding career beginning when he was just a child. Starting with small performances at his church, Phelps found his passion for performing and was inspired to share his remarkable, natural gift.

Graduating from Baylor University with a degree in vocal performance, Phelps joined the award-winning Gaither Vocal Band. Phelps served as the group’s tenor for more than 15 years, helping secure nine Dove Awards and one Grammy.

In 2017, Phelps left the Gaither Vocal Band to pursue a global, solo career. Today, Phelps remains a worldwide icon for the gospel genre and enjoys an expanding fan-base, while juggling his successful career with home and family.

With Christmas classics like you’ve never heard them before, and new songs that will become Christmas staples – It Must Be Christmas with David Phelps truly captures the meaning of the most wonderful time of the year.

The Joplin High School Choir will open the performance with a special holiday song.

Tickets: $50 Orchestra, $40 Mezzanine and Front Balcony, $30 Back Balcony. Discounted package tickets are available. Groups of 10+ receive a 20% discount.
