Four Highway Patrol troopers, including Lamar High School graduate, transfer to Troop D

Captain John Enderle, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the transfer of four troopers to Troop D.

Effective May 1, 2020, Trooper Douglas J. Jackson will transfer from Troop A, Lee’s Summit, to Troop D. He will be assigned to Zone 3, serving the citizens of Polk County.

Jackson is from St. Joseph, Missouri, and graduated from Nixa High School, in Nixa, Missouri, in 2003. He attended Columbia College, in Columbia, Missouri. 








Jackson was appointed to the Patrol in 2015 as a member of the 101st Recruit Class, and upon graduation was assigned to Bates County in Troop A. He and his wife, Cheri, have one child.

Effective May 1, 2020, Trooper Kyle L. Elledge will transfer from Troop C, Weldon Spring, to Troop D. He will be assigned to Zone 4, serving the citizens of Stone and Taney counties. 

Elledge was born in Fort Riley, Kansas, and graduated from Rolla High School, in Rolla, Missouri, in 2012. He served in the Army National Guard from 2012 until 2018. He attended Columbia College, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. 

Elledge was appointed to the Patrol in 2016 as a member of the 102nd Recruit Class, and upon graduation was assigned to St. Francois and Washington counties in Troop C.

Effective May 1, 2020, Trooper Travon C. Smith will transfer from Troop A, Lee’s Summit, to Troop D. He will be assigned to Zone 11, serving the citizens of Jasper County. 

Smith was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from Roosevelt High School, in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2008. He attended Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin, Missouri, and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. 








Smith was appointed to the Patrol in 2015 as a member of the 101st Recruit Class, and upon graduation was assigned to Bates County in Troop A. He is married to Felicia (Davis) and they are the parents of four children.

Effective May 1, 2020, Trooper Joshua S. Baird will transfer from Troop C, Weldon Spring, to Troop D. He will be assigned to Zone 13, serving the citizens of McDonald and Newton counties. 

Baird was born in Lamar, Missouri, and graduated from Lamar High School, in Lamar, Missouri, in 2013. He attended Crowder College, in Lamar, and Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin, Missouri. 

Baird was appointed to the Patrol in 2017 as a member of the 104th Recruit Class, and upon graduation was assigned to St. Charles County in Troop C. He is married to Taylor.
