Cause of structure fire on Zora Avenue still under investigation

Just before 4pm this afternoon, Joplin 911 received reports of a possible structure fire on Zora Ave.

First arriving units found a single-story residential structure with fire showing from the garage. Personnel attacked the fire and were able to contain it to the garage with some extension into the attic of the residence. 

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. 

Due to the extreme heat, additional units were brought in to assist. JFD received assistance from the Joplin Police Department and Metro Emergency Transport System. 

The fire is still under investigation at this time by the Joplin Fire Marshal.
