Original news release
On July 16th, 2022 at 12:34 am the Joplin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a report of a shooting in the area of 35th and Finley Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male with a gunshot wound injuries and immediately began rendering aid. EMS responded to the scene to take over treatment and rushed the victim to a local hospital. The victim is currently in critical condition.
Detectives with the Joplin Police Department are actively working the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
