Expressions of the Soul program planned at Carver Monument

(From Missouri State Parks)

Park Rangers at George Washington Carver National Monument will present a program about George Washington Carver’s artwork on Saturday and Sunday, July 23rd and 24th at 1:00 pm each day.

George Washington Carver stated that his artwork was his soul’s expression as he longed to understand the work of the Great Creator.

Learn how he combined his love of art with his career in agricultural science. Original art pieces will be on display and photographs of others will be shared. This 30-minute program will be held inside the visitor center.

Administered by the National Park Service, an agency of the Department of the Interior, George Washington Carver National Monument preserves the birthplace and childhood home of George Washington Carver, scientist, educator, and humanitarian. Please call the park at 417-325-4151 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for further information.

Visit our website at www.nps.gov/gwca and Facebook page. The park is located two miles west of Diamond, Missouri, on Highway V, then south ¼ mile on Carver Road.
