5-year-old Lockwood boy run over by Peterbilt, killed

A 5-year-old Lockwood boy was killed 8:42 a.m. today in Reeds when he was run over by 1997 Peterbilt 378.

According to the Highway Patrol report, the Peterbilt was parked in a private driveway while the driver, Brenden D. Crockett, 30, Lockwood, was standing on the driver's side steps and the vehicle was running.

The vehicle was put in gear and jolted forward hitting the child.








The boy was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Coroner James Harrison.

The fatality was the 41st this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
