A Lamar man was killed in a collision between an SUV and a motorized bike 8:35 p.m. Saturday on I-49 one mile south of Jasper.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Buick Enclave driven by Stephen E. Broddle, 71, Kansas City, Kansas, struck a Phatmoto motorized bicycle ridden by David J. Hurick Baughman, 21, Lamar, in the rear.
Jasper County Deputy Coroner Andrew Roughton pronounced Baughman dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 89th of the year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
