The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Structure Fire at 2402 S Grand, at 7:55 PM, Tuesday, 11 February, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 8:00 PM to find a single story wood framed residential structure with light smoke showing. Crews found a small fire in the basement and extinguished it, and removed some basement windows for ventilation. The fire was declared out at 8:05 PM. Crews remained on scene until 8:47 PM.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. 6 Joplin Fire units and 17 Joplin Fire personnel responded as well as JPD and METS.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at the time of this writing.
