Early morning fire destroys residence at 2516 N. Turk

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2516 N Turk, at 11:23 PM, Friday, 14 February, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 11:28 PM to find a single story wood framed residential structure with heavy fire and smoke showing from the garage and house. Several crews worked to put out the fire, including using aerial units. Eventually the roof collapsed, and several small passenger vehicles were damaged as well as a shed. The fire was declared under control at 1:43 AM Saturday, 15 February. Crews remained on scene until 3:37 AM Saturday.
 
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. Seven Joplin Fire units and 17 Joplin Fire personnel responded as well as JPD and METS. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants. 


The cause of the fire is still under investigation at the time of this writing.
