Public comment period open for Joplin transportation projects

A public comment period will begin on Monday, March 3, 2014 and will run until Monday, March 24 for the Transportation Prioritization Process. During the public comment period the public is encouraged to submit any potential transportation projects that are needed within the Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) boundaries. Projects from all modes of transportation are requested, including air, bike/pedestrian, freight, highway/road/bridge and transit.
A list of projects from each mode will be presented to the JATSO board at a special meeting on Monday, March 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Joplin City Hall Basement Conference Room, 602 South Main Street, Joplin, Missouri. Board members will discuss and prioritize projects from each mode at the meeting.
More information about the Transportation Prioritization Process can be viewed on the front page, under “Joplin’s Spotlight” at http://joplinmo.org. A current list of projects from each mode and accompanying maps are available for review and comment. The public is encouraged to submit potential projects that are needed but have not been included on the current list.
NOTE: If you are in need of disability related auxiliary aids or services, contact the City of Joplin’s ADA Coordinator at 624-0820, Ext. 210, or the City Clerk’s Office at 624-0820, Ext. 220. Kindly give us forty-eight (48) hours notice to arrange for the aids or services. TTD Number (417) 625-4774.
