American Heart Association recognizes MSSU as fit-friendly

Missouri Southern State University has been recognized as a Gold-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association for helping employees eat better and move more.
“This is the fourth year that we’ve received this recognition,” said Heather Arnold, director of aquatics and wellness at Missouri Southern. “It means that we are continuing to strive for excellence when it comes to the well-being of our employees.”
The Gold-Level employers:
§  Offer all employees physical activity support at the worksite.
§  Have increased the number of healthy eating options available at the worksite.
§  Promote a wellness culture.
§  Embrace at least nine criteria as outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture.
