The Joplin Fire Department responded at 10:03 AM on Monday, 16 February, to a report of a structure fire at 2004 Annie Baxter, Joplin.
Arriving on scene at 10:09 AM crews found a one story wood frame residential structure with fire and smoke coming from the front of the home and threatening a neighboring home. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, which was contained to the structure of origin, declaring it under control at 10:45 AM. Crews remained on scene until 12:50 PM.
The structure suffered significant damage throughout. Ownership information was not available at the time of this report.
Six fire units and 15 firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. No one was injured on the scene.
At this time the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal. The American Red Cross was contacted to provide displacement services for the occupants of the home.
