The Joplin Police Department has made an arrest in the armed robbery of Dave’s Mini Mart, 801 S. Maiden Lane and the attempted robbery of Dollar General, 807 W. 7th St.
On Sunday February 1, 2015 around 8:02 P. M. a suspect entered the Dollar General Store and handed the clerk a note demanding money. He did not display a weapon and the clerk refused to give him any money. The suspect then left.
A short time later the same suspect entered Dave’s Mini Mart and displayed a knife. He left with a small amount of cash.
Patrol officers were able to locate a suspect Tuesday evening and that suspect was interviewed by detectives. The suspect Jonathan W. Fleischmann, age 26 of Joplin is currently being held in the Joplin City Jail pending filing of formal charges. Fleischmann is being held on four Joplin city warrants and two counts of robbery.
