Barton County Sheriff's Report

On 2-9-2015 The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a home which had been broken into and items stolen from the home. The burglary occurred in the area of EE Highway and Northeast 15th Lane. The investigation is ongoing into the case.

On 2-6-2015 the Barton County Sheriff’s office was called to respond to Casey’s General Store in Golden City. It was reported that a male came in and stole merchandise from the store and left. The investigation is ongoing in the case. Reports will be sent to the Prosecutor for consideration in filing of criminal charges.

On 2-6-2015 the Barton County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of barking dogs in Mindenmines. Deputies of the Barton County Sheriffs office spoke with the victim in the case and advised that during the night the dogs bark and that disturbs them. A report will be written and submitted to the prosecutor for consideration in filing of criminal charges.

On 2-4-2015 The Barton County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a tower company in reference to copper wire being stolen from a cell phone tower along I-49 highway. Barton County Deputies responded and investigated the theft of the wire. The investigation continues in the theft.

On 2-4-2015 a the Barton County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of property damage to a field off of EE highway on Northeast 30th Lane. The reporting party advised that it was believed that the vehicle responsible for the damage was parked in a ditch on 30th Lane. When deputies arrived on scene they found a green in color Geo Tracker with a flat tire abandoned along the road on Northeast 30th Lane. The vehicle the evening before had a flat tire and had been left on C Highway until it could be changed later the next day. Sometime during the evening it appeared somebody had got into the vehicle and drove it southbound on 30th Lane from C highway. While on 30th Lane the tracker left the roadway and drove through a field. The investigation continues in the case and if anybody has any information of the theft or property damage you are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

On 2-3-2015 the Barton County Sheriff’s office responded to 273 Northeast 15th Lane in reference to a vehicle which had been damaged. A ford box truck had a window broke out and damage along the door. The investigation continues in this case.

On 2-2-2015 a search warrant was applied for and granted to search a home in the 1700 block of Grand in Lamar for illegal narcotics. The Barton County Sheriff’s office and the Lamar police department assisted in the investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation items was seized to be sent to the Missouri State highway patrol crime lab for analysis. At this time a report will be sent to the Prosecutor for consideration of filing formal criminal charges.
