Jasper County Sheriff taking proactive steps to prevent cattle theft

(From the Jasper County Sheriff's Office)

In an effort to be pro-active and prevent cattle theft, and farming equipment theft, from occurring in Jasper County, we will be conducting field interview stops with vehicles pulling farm equipment and stock trailers late at night.

The purpose is to identify the occupants of the vehicle, and determine what their actions were late at night. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to the recent incidents in the surrounding counties we are going to do everything we can to help protect our citizens and farmers.

Please keep a close eye on your property, and report suspicious vehicles and activities immediately to the Sheriff’s Office by calling dispatch at their non-emergency number 417-359-9100. If it is an emergency always feel safe to call 911.

Together we can stop this from happening in our county!
