On October 7, 2017 at 9:18 p.m. we received a call to Mercy Hospital in reference to child abuse. A 6-week-old baby had been brought to the hospital with a broken leg and other injuries that were consistent with child abuse.
An investigation began and the child was removed from the custody of his parents. After an investigation by detectives, charges were submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s office on the baby’s father, David W. Gordon, 24, Joplin, for abuse of a child. The prosecutor filed the charge with a $25,000 cash bond on 10-10-2017. This morning, detectives arrested Gordon for the charge and he is currently held in our jail.
The child, after being seen at Mercy, was transferred to Kansas City for treatment. He has since been released and is in alternative care, recovering. A 24-month-old female child was also removed from the parents’ custody and placed into alternative care.
Hopefully he will spend many years in general population.
ReplyDeleteI know David personally and he would never hurt a child!! There needs to be some more investigating with the MOTHER!! Don't accuse an innocent man until you know the facts!

ReplyDeleteI know David as well. He would never do that to any child! I feel sorry for him, having to go through this. Getting told that he was a abusive parent when he knows he isn't and he cant do anything! I pray the child gets better but David DID NOT do it!

ReplyDeleteI know David personally as well and he's a real piece of work and a manipulative pervert that enjoys cheating on the mother of his childten with high school home wreckers! I wouldn't put it past him, he was looking for a way out of this relationship in which he was miserable in. The night before his attest he was with his high school slut. The mother of these kids needs to wake up, he is an abusive munipulative snake!I have seen his rage outbursts and his temper is terrible.
