The four finalists for the position of President of Crowder College will be brought to campus for interviews, tours, meetings, and public forums during the month of November.
The public is invited to attend the forums, at which the candidates will give brief overviews of their qualifications and ideas, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the Board of Trustees. The Board will take the feedback under consideration while they are making the final decision on offering the position.
The public forums will be held in the Wright Conference Center at Crowder as follows:
Dr. Julie Murray-Jensen, Tuesday, November 6 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Harold Arnett, Tuesday, November 13 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Glenn Coltharp, Thursday, November 15 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Beatriz Joseph, Tuesday, November 20 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Julie Murray-Jensen is Vice President of Enrollment and External Affairs/Executive Director of the Foundation for Klamath Community College, Oregon, where she has been for the past eight years. She has also worked for the University of Virginia, Pacific University, University of Minnesota, and the University of Nebraska. She has an Ed.D. from Oregon State University.
Dr. Harold Arnett of Arkansas City, Kansas, was Vice President of Academics at Cowley College for three years and was at Highland Community College for 11 years in various roles. He has also been a principal, teacher, and associate professor in Missouri, Kentucky, and Ohio. His PhD is from Ohio State University.
Dr. Glenn Coltharp, Asbury, Missouri, has been the VP of Academic Affairs at Crowder since 2012. He was the Dean of the School of Education at MSSU for several years and has over 20 years of experience in the K-12 system as teacher, principal, Asst. Superintendent and Superintendent. His doctorate is from Kansas State University.
Dr. Beatriz Joseph is Vice President of College Services at Palo Alto College, San Antonio, Texas, where she has been for the past nine years. She has also served as VP of Institutional Research and Planning at Georgia Military College, as Director of Academic Program Assessment at University of South Alabama, and as a teacher and marketing professional for institutions in New Zealand. She has an Ed.D. in higher education from the University of Georgia and is currently completing an Aspen Presidential Fellowship in collaboration with the Stanford Educational Leadership Initiative.
The Board hopes to offer the position to the winning candidate by the end of December. The start date of the new president will depend on the schedule of the person selected for the position, but no later than July 1st. Dr. Thomas Burke will continue to serve as interim president until the new president is in place.
