According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001Kawasaki 1500 motorcycle driven by Donald D. Gilmore, 56, Joplin, traveled off the roadway, struck a road sign and overturned, ejecting Gilmore.
Newton County Coroner Dale Owen pronounced Gilmore dead at 4:50 p.m.
The fatality was the 116th of the year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
