Mr. Palm’s presentations are part of Missouri Southern’s ongoing Nordic Semester.
“You can’t have a Nordic Semester without including ABBA,” said Chad Stebbins, director MSSU’s Institute of International Studies. “We decided to invite the world’s foremost expert to campus to give three talks about the iconic Swedish group. ABBA is one of Sweden’s most important exports to the world, along with IKEA, Volvo, H&M and Björn Borg.”
Carl Magnus Palm has researched and written about ABBA for 25 years and is a consultant for the record company Polar Music when ABBA’s music is re-released on CD and DVD. He’s also a contributor to ABBA The Museum in Stockholm, and has frequently talked about the group on television and radio in the U.S., Australia, the U.K., Germany and other countries in continental Europe. His latest book is ABBA – The Complete Recording Sessions (2017), which ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus called “a fantastic work.”
