The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences Joplin Campus, in partnership with Missouri Southern State University, Freeman Health System and Northpark Mall, will host a health screening event from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, in a store space near the American Eagle Outfitters entrance of Northpark Mall, 101 N. Rangeline Rd., Joplin.
KCU-Joplin student doctors and MSSU Health Sciences Department students will conduct the health assessments under the supervision of licensed physicians or clinicians. The services provided are academic in nature for students and are not a substitute for regular care by a physician.
The health assessments that will be offered will include blood pressure, body mass index, diabetes screening, heart health, lung function and oral cancer. Additionally, health education and community resources will be offered to participants.
The event is free and open to the public.
