This week’s spotlight is K9 Officer Randy Black.
Officer Black is a 17 ½ year veteran of the Joplin Police Department, who is currently assigned to the K9 Unit with K9 Fighter.
Before joining the police department Officer Black was a mechanic. Since joining JPD Officer Black has served as a patrol officer, investigator, SWAT, Honor Guard, range officer, explosive breacher, and K9.
When asked what he wanted the community to know about his job he stated "I've taken pride in being a part of the Joplin Police Department for the last 17 years. I've enjoyed my time working for the community, training young officers, and now working a police canine."
