A St. Paul Kansas man is in custody after a commercial burglary was reported to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office early Sunday morning.

Just after 6:33 a.m., the suspect forced entry into Strip Pit Bait and Tackle in West Mineral, stealing miscellaneous fishing equipment and beer. Deputies responded to the scene and obtained a description of the suspects’ vehicle, locating it a few miles away a short time later.

As the result of their investigation, Cherokee County Sheriffs’ Deputies arrested 24 year-old Justin Robert Galloway, who was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $7,000 bond on allegations of commercial burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and driving under the influence.

“Because the suspect was quickly located and apprehended, deputies were able to recover nearly all the property which had been reported stolen and get it back to its rightful owner,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.
