Seneca Police recover Jeep stolen from Carthage owner

On 2-27-20 Officer Thiel attempted to conduct a stop on a Jeep Cherokee for possible DWI. The vehicle failed to stop for Officer Thiel and continued east on K High.

The Jeep turned south on Maple and traveled approximately one mile to the intersection of Maple and Condor where it ran off the road. 

The driver exited the vehicle and ran into the woods. 








The passenger was detained by Officer Thiel. It was determined the Jeep was stolen out of Carthage. 

We will release the name when formal charges are filed. Good Job Officer Thiel.

On 2/23/20, Officer Zimmerman made a traffic stop at Cherokee/Delaware for an equipment violation.

The driver, Stephen Allen May II was arrested on a Joplin Warrant for: DWS/DWR and No Insurance. May was transported to Newton County Jail.
