Join Joplin Public Library and the Post Art Library for an all-ages Black History Month celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, February 22.
The program will begin with a Living History presentation in which Nanda Nunnelly portrays Ona Judge, a courageous enslaved woman who escaped from and was relentlessly pursued by our first president, George Washington.
Following this presentation, attendees can visit interactive booths honoring notable African-American figures in both the past and present, focusing on local history, arts and culture, and African-American inventors.
