This week’s Officer Spotlight is Detective Dustin Moyer. Detective Moyer has worked for the Joplin Police Department for seven years.
Before joining JPD Detective Moyer was a Police Officer for the University of Missouri and a Deputy with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Moyer is currently assigned to the Investigations Bureau and is assigned to the Persons Crimes Division.
Detective Moyer has served as a patrol officer, investigator, SWAT team leader, and an instructor for search and seizure lecture.
When asked what he wanted the community to know about his job Detective Moyer stated “The Investigations Bureau works closely with many agencies within the community to solve crimes and get help for victims of crimes on a daily basis.
"The department is full of dedicated, professional officers who are ready to help the community in any way they can.”
Detective Moyer, in his time away from work, enjoys time with his family as well as participating in and attending sports activities.
