(From Crowder College)Crowder College Foundation 18th annual Festival of Wreaths takes place Tuesday, November 10th. The event begins at 4:30 pm with a silent auction in Longwell Museum located inside the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the Neosho campus. A live auction will begin at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Last year’s event raised $100,000 for scholarships & program support.
Festival of Wreaths began as a live auction of 30-40 holiday wreaths and swags. Now in its 18th year, the event has grown into an electronically integrated silent auction of 400 -500 items as well as a live auction 30 - 40 items.
While holiday wreaths and décor will always be a mainstay of Festival of Wreaths, auction merchandise at the event includes everything from gift baskets and apparel to trips, electronics, and household items. Guests will see items that range in value from $10 to several thousand dollars and everything in between.
“This year, as we continue navigating the bumpy terrain of COVID-19, student need is greater than ever,” stated Haley Reardon, Assistant Director of Resource Development and Alumni Relations. “Many of our students work full- or part-time and were among the first to be furloughed last spring.”
Changes will be implemented this year as a result of the pandemic include in-person and online bidding on silent auction items as in past years. Guests are encouraged to pre-register online: bidpal.net/fow or text FOW to 243725. All staff, volunteers, and guest will wear a face covering. Masks will be provided if needed. Hors d’oeuvres will be plated by Great Western Dining staff and seating in the auditorium will be physically distanced unless sitting with family or friends.
Check-out may be done via mobile device without waiting in line and arrangements may be made to pick-up items between 9am-4pm, November 11-13. Delivery of merchandise to home or office may also be arranged.
