Events planned to kick off fall semester at Missouri Southern

“Brechung,” an exhibition by faculty members in the Art and Design Department at Missouri Southern State University, will open to the public on Monday, Aug. 16, in the Spiva Gallery.

The bi-annual show will feature works by full- and part-time members of the Missouri Southern faculty.

The show will run through Friday, Aug. 27. A public reception is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.








The exhibition’s opening is one of several events planned for the first week of the Fall 2021 semester at MSSU. With classes beginning Monday, several events are planned to welcome students back to campus.

Sunday, Aug. 15


Campus Craze: 6 to 7 p.m. on the campus Oval. Students can enjoy music and meet with representatives from more than 30 registered student organizations to learn how they can get involved.

Monday, Aug. 16

Welcome Week Picnic: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Oval. The annual event will offer a free lunch for students, faculty and staff.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

Community Day: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Oval. Sponsored by Career Services, students can visit with representatives from area businesses and non-profits, sample products and explore job and volunteer opportunities.
