Sarcoxie Police Department makes DWI arrest, sends out nuisance citations

1. Anyone who has a trailer of any sort, know that you can purchase a trailer lock. We would advise you to do so. We had a bass boat stolen right down from the police department. 

Thieves do not care where they steal from or from who. Locks, cameras, chihuahuas, etc. will help deter them. The boat was later recovered outside of Jasper, MO.

 
2. 930 in the morning, on a Saturday, is way too early to be working a crash. Officers arrived on the scene, second officer didn't see your vehicle buried in the trees and brush at first. The officer looked around your vehicle to find open liquor containers inside and the vehicle smelling of alcohol. They talk with you, and we can smell the odor of intoxicants. Medical gets you patched up to perform field sobriety. You were placed under arrest for DWI. We released you to the hospital due to your injuries. Hopefully, totaling your second vehicle while drinking will help you see that you need help and will receive help.

 
3. Many nuisance citations went out last week. We gave a two-day extension on all that were sent courtesy notices. If you had not talked with us prior to your issued date, well you'll see the judge. We really our town to look good and cleaned up. Courtesy notices will more than likely be sent out weekly due to having our intern helping in the process. All we ask is for you to mow, pick up, clean, get rid of whatever your paperwork says.

 
4. Fires may not be started after 9pm unless authorized by the city. Fires are to be monitored at all times. The only things that are allowed to be burned within the city are limbs and yard debris (grass clippings, weeds, etc). Burning after 9pm with no supervision will get you an illegal burning citation. We guess it can go with the rest of your citations from us. Don't miss court, we would hate for you to have another warrant....
