Rural Jasper man arrested after allegedly guzzling liquor and misbehaving

(From the Jasper Police Department)

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 1735 hours, Sgt. Ashby and Cpl. Hildebrandt made contact with subjects located at 309 N. Third Street in reference to a follow up disorderly conduct.

Contact was made with Dustin Simpson in reference to the whereabouts of Chad Pennell. Simpson stated “He dropped Mr. Pennell off at his residence outside of Jasper earlier.”

Officers remained in the area to watch the residence due to suspicion of Simpson not being truthful with the officers. Pennell was observed coming out of the residence a few moments after.

Pennell was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct from an incident that occurred on July 31, 2021 in Jasper.

Simpson was charged obstruction/interfering with arrest for lying to the officers regarding Pennell’s whereabouts.

It has become apparent that Pennell thinks it’s ok to come into Jasper, guzzle liquor and create disturbances after doing so. He and Simpson were both advised that is NOT acceptable. Please drink responsibly and don’t cause disturbances in Jasper, and please don’t lie to the police… Much appreciated.

Both Pennell and Simpson are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
