Four Joplin teens suffer serious injuries in rollover crash, 15-year-old airlifted to Mercy Springfield

 Four Joplin teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident 6:30 p.m. Thursday on County Road 170 two miles west of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Leala A. Bowers, 18, Joplin, driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, lost control and traveled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and a fence causing the car to overturn.







One passenger, a 15-year-old Joplin girl, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.

Bowers and two other passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, both from Joplin, were treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
