(From Carl Junction Area Chamber of Commerce)Three fantastic individuals are nominated for "Citizen of the Year!"
- Dr. David Pyle: Representing Carl Junction R-1 Schools for 21 years, Dr. Pyle came to Carl Junction to raise his family because he genuinely loves CJ, the schools, and the spirit of its residents. He is no stranger to volunteering his time at many community events like the annual Shop with a Cop program - one of the highlights of the year to help at. He is also very active in service organizations including Webb City/Carl Junction Rotary and the board of directors for the CJACC. Dr. Pyle has a heart to serve and truly has the CJ spirit.
- Kasey & Lesley Cowger: The Cowger's are truly one of CJ's biggest cheerleaders. They not only grew up here, but decided to stay to raise their family in the city that they love. They both volunteer at many community events and help students with the Cowger Family Scholarship Fund each year. Kasey also serves on the school board helping give back to the CJ community and help it thrive & grow for many more years. Through their everyday jobs, they both help families make Carl Junction home! Lesley is a local real estate agent and Kasey works in banking. This Carl Junction couple has the heart of a Carl Junction bulldog!
- Tera Miller: If you've been to any community function in Carl Junction, then I know you've met Tera! She volunteers so much of her time to Carl Junction. Whether it's organizing soccer and youth activities, the annual 4th of July parade, gathering supplies or good for residents in need, or planning lunches for the teachers - you can count on Tera for making it happen. She even helps capture memories for its residents through her photography business. She truly loves Carl Junction and a citizen that every city strives to have!
