Lane reductions, traffic delays on tap for Route 43 and Fountain Road in Joplin

TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Reduction, Traffic Delays at Route 43 & Fountain Rd. in Joplin Beginning Oct. 14

Where: Missouri Route 43 (Main Street) & Fountain Road Joplin

When: 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday, October 14-November 16

Details: Contractor crews installing new traffic signals on poles and mast arms








Traffic Impacts

Drivers should expect lane reductions on Route 43 (Main Street) when crews are working

At least one lane on Route 43 (Main Street) OPEN at all times

All Fountain Road lanes OPEN

Work will be done Monday-Friday

Crews working daytime hours only, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

All lanes OPEN nights and weekends

Drivers are urged to use caution as crews and equipment will be working close to traffic

Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones

No signed detours








Drivers should find alternate routes around work zones

Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is part of a project to make intersection improvements and install traffic signals and street lighting on Route 43 (Main Street), Route TT (Newman Road) and Loop 43 (Range Line Road) in Joplin.

  1. A complete joke. If they wanted to improve the intersection, they'd add turn lanes for Fountain. But instead they will inconvenience drivers for zero real gain.
