Joplin master developer submits proposal for Arkansas State University job

The city of Joplin's master developer of the tornado-stricken area, Wallace-Bajjali, is in the mix for a hotel/convention center to be located on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

The Wallace Bajjali firm proposes a complex with 150 beds and up to 75,000 SF of convention and meeting space. The proposal does not identify a specific hotel brand but notes existing relationships with the Hilton, Holiday Inn and Wyndham brands.

According to Arkansas Business, the university is looking to build a complex in an 11-acre tract, where its track and field complex was once located. The football stadium, Convocation Center, and the Fowler Center surround the site.
