There will be a public meeting held on Tuesday, June 17 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located on the fifth floor of Joplin City Hall, 602 South Main Street, Joplin, Mo. This is an opportunity for property owners in the Murphysburg residential district to learn more about the process of nominating, as well as the implications of listing, Murphysburg to the National Register of Historic Places. A question and answer sessions will follow the presentation.
The presentation will be presented by Elizabeth Rosin, of Rosin Preservation, LLC, from Kansas City, Mo. Rosin and her staff have successfully completed dozens of nominations for historic districts, including many residential districts similar in size and age to Murphysburg.
This project is partially funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, State Historic Preservation Office and the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service.
