Four, including two Carthage children, injured in accident on I-44

Heavy rain caused a two-car accident 5:50 p.m. Friday on I-44, one mile west of Sarcoxie.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Dodge Charger driven by Allison B. Wammack, 18, Monett, slowed down due to heavy rain and was hit in the rear by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Margaret A. Still, 53, Carthage.

Stills and three passengers, Destiny Owen, 5, Carthage, Dasheonna Patterson, 9, Carthage, and Dena C. Patterson, 24, Carthage, and  were taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, with minor injuries.
