Three injured in head-on collision near Neosho

Three people were injured in a head-on collision 2:15 p.m. today on Poppy Drive, one mile west of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a 2005 Cherolet Impala driven by Virginia A. Wilder, 52, Neosho, and a 1988 Ford F-150 driven by James M. Bunch, 26, Neosho, met on a curve and struck head-on.

Bunch received moderate injuries, while Wilder's injuries were serious. A passenger in the Wilder car, her eight-year-old grandson Jordan W. Neal of Garland, Kansas, received moderate injuries.

All three were taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
