A Lanagan man was charged with driving while intoxicated, following a two-vehicle accident 8:10 a.m. today on Big Sugar Creek Road one mile east of Pineville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Timothy D. Hammonds, 49, Lanagan, crossed the center line and struck a 1978 International Sport driven by Luther C. Gardner, 48, Pineville.
Hammonds, who was taken to Freeman Neosho with moderate injuries, was cited for DWI, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, and no seat belt.
