On Thursday June 19, 2014 at 6:56 pm Joplin dispatch received a call for a motor vehicle crash at 32nd Street just east of Mississippi Ave. Emergency services responded and found that a westbound Chrysler Sebring driven by Karen Maxwell of Joplin crossed through the left turn lane and collided with an eastbound Jeep Patriot driven by Frances Hodge of Granby.
Hodge was transported to a local hospital for injuries. Maxwell was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Joplin Police Department’s Major Crash Team.
