Golf tournament to benefit MSSU Police Department

(From Southern News Service)

Registration is open for the inaugural UPD Classic, a golf tournament to be held Friday, July 29, at the Schifferdecker Golf Course. Shotgun start for the tournament will be 8 a.m.

Sponsored by Missouri Southern’s University Police Department (UPD), the event will benefit a different project or department each year. Proceeds raised during the 2016 event will be used to purchase equipment needed by the campus police department.

“The officers in our department provide a valuable service when it comes to protecting our campus community,” said Officer Brian Moorehouse with the UPD. “This is a chance for us to protect and serve in another way that will benefit the university and also allow area residents to come out and have some fun.

Cost for the four-man scramble event is $65 per player; hole sponsorships are available. The deadline to register is Monday, July 22. To register online, visithttps://mssu.edu/upd-classic.
