A Springfield teen drowned 5:38 p.m. Saturday in the North River while attempting to help another swimmer.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Chloe E. Butcher, 13, Springfield, became lodged underneath the water and never resurfaced. Trooper J. R. Roberts and Ozark County first responders removed her from the water and she was pronounced dead at 6:03 p.m. by Dr. Henegar.
