(From Cherokee County Sheriff's Office)

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Galena Police Department, along with law enforcement partners from across the country, including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted their 13th Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, April 29th, 2017.

As a result, 414 pounds of unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs were collected in Cherokee County. “That’s 414 pounds of drugs that won’t fall into the hands of children, substance abusers or be improperly disposed of in our waterways,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.
