Open house public meeting set on 20th Street improvements

(From the City of Joplin)

Residents are invited to attend an open house public meeting from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at the Franklin Technology Center, located at 2220 Indiana Ave. During the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to visit with City engineers and representatives from D and E Plumbing relative to the construction work along 20th Street from Main Street to Range Line Road. Construction is expected to begin this spring.

Citizens may drop by any time during these hours and view the plans and ask questions about the upcoming project.

The proposed improvements are part of a Capital Plan approved by the City Council in July 2015 for the expenditure of Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funds (CDBG-DR) which includes reconstruction of 20th Street focusing on storm sewers, sidewalks, street lighting, signalization, and landscaping.

If citizens have questions and are unable to attend the meeting, they may contact Dan Johnson, Project Engineer, at 624-0820 ext. 538.
